These workshops will give everyone the chance of hands on experience from blending aromatherapy oils to massage techniques. The materials are even supplied!

or even a newly created aromatherapy oil blend in a bottle.
During this evening we will be offering you the chance to come and try different treatments from a range of qualified and practicing therapists. For this evening we will have a range of treatments that will include Aromatherapy Massage & Indian Head Massage. Please come along and chill out in the relaxed atmosphere of the café try a treatment and may be book for a full treatment in your own time with one of our therapists. INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE WORKSHOP

being able to give a soothing massage to your friends and loved ones!
By learning some simple but effective massage techniques, you can help
relieve some of the symptoms of stress. In today’s hectic world it is
important to allow ourselves time to relax and revitalise.
Come
along to a relaxed in an informal evening designed to teach you some of
the basic skills of giving an Indian head massage. Jane will
demonstrate a few gentle moves on a willing recipient then you can
practice on each other. The treatments will be with clothes on so
loose comfortable clothing is recommended.

Self Care - Kitchen Cosmetics
This workshop is designed to show you how easy it is to look after your skin and hair economically and naturally using easily sourced ingredients, many of which are in your store cupboard or fridge. It will also show you how to make a simple salve, which has a wide variety of applications including lips, nails and dry skin. All attendees will be given a handout and salve to take home.

Wai Chung is the founder of the Self Care Workshops, she has been in practice treating a variety of ailments with holistic treatments for nearly 3 years. She has trained at Southampton Holistic Training Centre and has since served in different areas, from clinics to teaching in Barton Peveril College.
Wai offers a range of holistic treatments called Lotus Treatments which includes Hopi Ear Candles, Aromatherapy Massage and Reflexology. She specialises in Stress Relief by tailoring each treatment plan to an individual's needs. Treatments are available Wednesday to Saturday, 11am - 5pm atAllsorts Psychic Cafe. Jane Young completed her training in Indian head massage at Totton College last summer and has since worked as a therapist at Options in Lymington on their Aftercare Programme. She also runs her own workshops from home; gives regular massage to clients privately and at the local salon, as well as participating in the Self Care events hosted by The Active Arts Community. She is a qualified lecturer and has been teaching for 12 years. She is keen to share the basic methods that make this a wonderfully relaxing therapy.

Marion Hibbs runs The Feel Good Factory, which is a business, devoted to producing natural organic skin care products. She uses herbs and other natural ingredients to make creams and salves, which protect, heal and nourish the skin. She also enjoys sharing this knowledge by running workshops, which gives the opportunity to explain the benefits of using natural products and how to make your own. Marion has always been drawn to using natural products due to concerns about pharmaceutical products and their effects on the body. She has studied with, and been inspired by Medical Herbalists who taught her how to start making creams and salves which in turn inspired her to create her own wonderful recipes which eventually turned into The Feel Good Factory www.fgf-online.co.uk

Hand Reflexology for Stress Relieve & Detox- hosted by Wai Chung
This evening includes a talk about Reflexology & how it works. You’ll get know & learn common reflexology points to help relieve problem areas as well as how to detect imbalances in the body. You will get the chance to practice on yourself or others if you would like the experience of treating a friend. Part way through the evening there will be a break for a chat and some food if you like. Singles, Pairs, Groups, all welcome.
Acupressure for Health & Stress Relief - hosted by Rose Haywood
This workshop is being facilateted by Rose Haywood who is a licensed Oriental practitioner who trained in the USA. She has a master’s degree in Oriental Medicine from Tai Hsuan College, a Taoist school in Honolulu, Hawaii and has practised acupunture and Chinese Herbal Medicine for nearly 20 years. She also has 15 years of teaching experience in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine, being able to treat a wide variety if conditions whislt specialising in womens health care. For the first part of the evening there will be an introduction to Chinese Medicine, which will including the basics of Yin & Yang, Qi, the Five Elements, the Meridian System, the Acupunture Points and how they work to treat bodily imbalances. Location of key acupuncture points on the body and how to stimulate them. We will be focusing on balancing the bodys energy and creating calm, but we will also learn the five points to calm specific emotions. The second part will give you the chance to practise on yourself & others.
Reflexology & How to Take Care of our Feet - hosted by Wai Chung
A traditional Oriental therapy treated on the feet or the hands, used for centuries to treat physical and psychological ailments - from back ache to infertility. Imbalances of energy which causes stress or ill health will be addressed through massage to the reflex points. The release of energy blockages throughout the body would then take place, re-establishing the body's natural energy flow and healing mechanisms. Some of the benefits include Detoxing, Clearing and Balancing, Improves condition of body, Promotes self healing, Relaxation and relieve from stress. This is a creative yet informative evening where we will be learning the basics of Reflexology and making massage socks to take home. Each part of our feet tells a story and can reveal more about us than we may know ourselves. You’ll be able to discover how reflexology can benefit you, your family and friends through health and well-being. For this workshop you will need to bring along a pair of plain white or cream socks which you will be designing and decorating into a massage chart, which you will be able to take home to use later. Through the knowledge you will be able to know straight away what the parts of the feet are reflecting to us... Then we’ll put the socks to use and learn a few massage tips, which you can use on yourself or others. Please remember to bring along a pair of plain white or cream socks to your own feet size.
Blending & Using Aromatherapy Oils with Simple Massage Techniques - hosted by Wai Chung
Discover the benefits of Aromatherapy Oils for daily use. Aromatherapy is a holistic therapy – known to be used for thousand of years to help promote health and well being using the combination of massage with essential oils. In this workshop you will learn in detail about a few different oils and will practice blending your own personal oil blend from a selection of oils available. Also you can learn some basic massage techniques for applying the oils. Materials like bottles, labeling, oils and reference books will be supplied and included in the cost. This workshop is suitable for any level of understanding inspiring and benefiting everyone from complete beginner to those who are practicing healthy living already.
