Creatively celebrating the seasons with shared food, laughter and music amongst warmed hearted people



We invite you to join us for our community seasonal fire gatherings around the warmth of the Fire with Drumming, Songs, Stories, Food and Music.

Let us gather together to be inspired, enriched and renewed in appreciation of nature's rhythm and beauty.

There will be free drumming and campfire songs mixed up with enchanting stories, live music, seasonal traditions and delicious seasonal home made food.

Summer Solstice Fire Celebration
 
Sunday 19th June 2016, 3pm  - 10pm
 

YMCA Fairthorne Manor, Family Park & Campsite

near Botley, off the A3051, Southampton SO30 2GH

 

We invite you to join us around the Fire, for an uplifting community celebration of the Summer Solstice with Live Folk Music, Camp Fire Songs, Drumming, Games, Crafts, Face Painting and a Bring and Share Picnic.  Lets celebrate together enjoying the longer days and warmer weather.

 

Entrance: Adults £12 / U21’s £6 / U5’s Free

(No need to book, pay on arrival)

Bring and Share Picnic ~ think summer, healthy, vegetarian (try to avoid artificial and over processed stuff)

e.g. salads, fresh herbs, hummus and dips, crisps, breads, cheeses, pasta, quiches, fruits, juices, lemonade, mead, cakes, and anything made with honey. 

 

All are welcome to bring and share in music, songs, poems, stories, traditions, food and friendship.  

 

The Fire Circle is held within a copse of trees at the campsite of YMCA Fairthorne Manor situated near the River Hamble in Botley.  The campsite has a relaxed atmosphere, lovely grounds with a stream and offers plenty of room for families to enjoy themselves.

 

We have the option to stay Sunday night at the campsite, if you are interested then let us know, we would each have to book and make our own arrangements through Fairthorne Manor, there is plenty of space so you can decide on the day if you fancy that. http://www.ymca-fg.org/for-families/fairthorne-manor-2/camping/family-park-campsite/

We invite you to join us for a celebration of the Winter Solstice around the warmth of the Fire with Drumming, Songs, Food, Stories and Music.  Lets gather together to be inspired, enriched and renewed in appreciation of nature's rhythm and beauty.

The Winter Solstice is a peaceful moment of rest and nurture before the radiance and renewal of the coming year, and the fire a symbol of the light shining within the darkness, that brings us warmly together.


There will be free drumming and campfire songs led by Richard Parker, live music, enchanting stories and delicious seasonal home made food made.

Held in an Iron Age Roundhouse within the magical grounds of Minstead Study Centre situated in the heart of the New Forest.  All are welcome to bring and share in music, songs, poems, stories, traditions, food and friendship.

Numbers are limited for this event, booking is essential, so please let us know asap if you wish to come.
